BUIF 2010 is now open for entries from underwater photographers and film-makers
Thousands of pounds worth of prizes will be up for grabs in seven stills categories and three film categories. Last year, BUIF received more than 1,000 entries from photographers in more than 20 countries around the world.
'Next month, DIVE is running a special feature on how to succeed at underwater photo competitions - it's being written by one of my co-judges, Alex Mustard, so expect lots of insider advice. My message is to get your prints looking as beautiful as possible, and get those entries in.'
The winners will be announced at Dive Fest, which is being held at Pentewan Sands Holiday Park in Cornwall from 30 April to 3 May 2010. All images and video that are shortlisted will be on display at Dive Fest, and there will also be a Splash-In competition where underwater photographers will compete to get the best shots over the weekend
Shortlisted images will also go on display at the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth. The closing date for entries is 20 March 2010. DIVE IN
